Notre Dame in Flames

What a tragedy today seeing much of this beautiful Gothic building being destroyed by fire, luckily the main structure has been saved.

 The symbol of Paris survived 2 world wars and a revolution but today fire ravaged it.

    It was a shock for everybody to see this monument in flames.
    We visited France some years ago and I have a picture of me and my husband with Notre Dame in the background,which I have framed.
    I don't know why such horrible things happen...

    Anyway, I hope they will rebuild it , but of course it can never be the same.
