Verona

Verona certainly is a beautiful city. I just didn't have enough time here. Another place I need to come back to!

Such beautiful old buidings and I'm on the look out for Juliet's balcony. This isn't it!

Nor this.

More balconies!

And another!

Lovely squares or rather piazzas

No still not Juliet's!

No still not the right balcony.

Nice balconies but still not there yet.

Yes, Finally, this is it! Don't think this is original. Think it's had some work done on it. Had to wait ages for the people to get off the balcony. Think they pay to go in & then they take selfies. Sad!

Now this is just weird. People go & touch one of the boobs on Juliet's statue for luck in love. Someone should tell them that the original statue was removed due to being damaged by continual tourist touching & this is just a copy. More, saddoes!

Here we are near the Arena where they hold the operas. Note the scenery stored outside.

and some of the characters!

The Arena is a gorgeous setting for operas. Wish I had been able to go to one. Didn't even have time to go into it.

There are some gorgeous buildings in Verona & the area surrounding the Arena it is very pretty.

Very nice place to sit & relax if you have the time.

  1. I sure see why you need to go back, so much to take in. It should take a day just looking at each place.
Thanks for posting all of the great photo's.
Hoping all is going well with you, we are just taking it slow now and enjoying no responsibility.

  2. I visited Verona some years ago and I was really enchanted by the beauty of the place.
I went to Juliet's place but I only touched her hand!! I got married some months later!! Although, I think Juliet has nothing to do with it:)
    Have a nice week.

  3. I've been to Verona twice but both were short day visits. I enjoyed it. It's a pretty city and I wouldn't mind going back some day.
