They created the video with five decades of children's telly characters. See if you can see your favourite from when you were little. They're mostly BBC characters but a few are from other places too.
Caught a glimpse of Bagpuss my daughter's favourite, Peppa Pig, my grand daughter's obsession at the moment and I even saw mine in glorious black and white, Muffin the Mule!
The Google Ads get on your nerves but at least you can close them down.
It was really interesting watching how the video was made here on the BBC's Pudsey website. The Google Ads get on your nerves but at least you can close them down.

This is sweet! I don't know too many of them, but I adore Paddington Bear and even have a couple of hard-cover copies of the books in my collection.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this.
I like Paddington Bear very much.

I bought the DVD..it is a good cause and a once in a lifetime occurance: apparantly it took two years to get all the different copyrite holders to agre etc. First class: well worth all the work and may it raise loads of money!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Live Aid of cartoon characters! I love the Michael Jackson glove.

You know, I am 46 and still love cartoons like a kid. They bring so many memories. And this video is superb. Some characters I remember but most of all the music, the animation and the light is beautiful. Thanks. It's been a nice moment.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see any that I knew but then I would not have known them if they were from over here. My kids might.
ReplyDeleteDear Winifred ~~ Only one I knew was
ReplyDeletePaddington Bear, but then I'm in
Australia.
Thanks for your comment and I am glad you liked the photos.
Take great care, Love, Merle.
There's a few I don't recognise but here's the ones I do:
ReplyDeleteFrom my era there's Muffin the Mule, Paddington, Sooty and Sweep, Thomas The Tank Engine and The Fat Controller, Andy Pandy, Bill & Ben the Flowerpot Men
From my children’s era there's Camberwick Green, Scooby Doo, Trumpton, The Wombles, Bagpuss, Thunderbirds, Zippy & George from Rainbow,
From more recent days there’s Little Robots, Postman Pat, Fifi and the Flowertots, Fireman Sam, Bob the Builder,
Peppa Pig, Pingu, Rubberdubbers, Koala Brothers, Night Garden characters, Teletubbies, Sponge Bob Squarepants, Roary The Racing Car and Angelina Ballerina. Anyone recognise the ones I've left out?
What a saddoe I am!
